For nearly 60 years Motability Ireland has been providing transportation solutions to disabled drivers and disabled passengers. The business was founded and is still run by the McElmeel Family and has offices in Ashbourne, County Meath and in Armagh, County Armagh.
Our main business lines are the sales and conversions of wheelchair accessible vehicles, adaptations to vehicles for disabled drivers and passengers and the rental of hire vehicles specifically designed for disabled drivers and passengers.
We have a simple philosophy and a set of principles which has enabled us to be the market leader for several decades.
We source the best manufactured and safest products in the world. We add a fair profit and have them installed by highly trained and certified engineers.
A significant portion of our profits are reinvested back into the business in order to drive innovation and safety.
Now here are the points at which we distinguish ourselves from any competitor:
ALL of our conversions are performed in Ireland. That’s right. You would be amazed at conversion companies who have their work done abroad by questionable workers and to unknown safety standards. You live in Ireland, you buy in Ireland.
We will submit any of our current and past conversions to the Revenue Commission (the governing body) for quality and compliance audits.
We will not perform “improper” conversions for customers wishing to defraud the Revenue Commission. By perpetuating such fraud, we would allow a lucrative benefit to be abused and truly deserving people may subsequently be denied benefits.
We whole heartedly support the Revenue Commissions’ stepped up audits and efforts to expose fraud and cheats.
We conduct our affairs to the highest of standards. We report all of our revenue and pay taxes on all of our income. We pay our employees a competitive wage and we pay them in accordance with all laws and regulations and not in unreported cash.
